Mature Resources - The Positive Aging Network™
July 2010 Letter From the Editor - S. Sultan Cutler
Dear Readers:
It’s great to have so many old and new friends like you visiting us online at www.MatureResources.org !
The past few months, our tech team has dedicated countless hours to redesign the look, feel and contents of our seven-year-old website. I’ve learned websites get stale-looking if the publishers don’t change with the times.
That’s what we’re doing – a redesigned logo look, home page improvements, advertisers’ easy application to be in our Professional Directory, and much more. Each month our 11 regular columnists will write brand new articles and features to keep you current on interesting subjects. And we have many writers offering us brand new “exclusive” articles each and every issue.

Life Is Not A Spectator Sport
By Joanne P. Stein
No matter how many candles appeared on our last birthday cake, we can stay youthful and be happier if we are willing to be a perpetual student of life. And, inevitably, these feelings of loss are accompanied by a period of grieving. Ever since Dr. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross first identified the stages of mourning in her seminal book, “On Death and Dying,” bards, mental health experts and pundits have waxed philosophical about this difficult process.

According to Jackson's will, his mother was to raise them - and the judge granted her permanent custody. All the while, pundits were busy predicting who would really take care of them.

Finding the Gold in the Golden Years - Savvy Spending Tips for Older Adults
By Joy Loverde
Every Sunday morning, rain or shine, I watch as my friends, Emma Gregory, 80 and Frances Holland, 86 shuffle into the church hall on Chicago’s north side to join the other parishioners. Deacon Donald Palmer picks them up at home with the parish van; then escorts them to the front door before continuing his rounds to gather others who are attending prayer services.
