Real golfers don't miss putts, they get robbed.
A Simple Power Strategy For Seniors
By Jack Moorehouse
Golf is one sport where you can make adjustments for age. In tennis a good player in his 20s will probably defeat a good player in is 50s all things being equal. In running a runner in his 20s will probably beat a runner in his 40s in the 100-yard dash. Age has its effects on us when it comes to most sports. But in golf you can make adjustments to your game to compensate for age.
Off the tee is where making adjustments really pays off for older players. Senior players with low golf handicaps can't afford to give up too much yardage to younger players with equally low golf handicaps and expect to win. Of course, hitting longer drives off the tee won't guarantee you'll win a match, but it certainly doesn't hurt, especially if your shots are straight down the fairway. So as you get older, you need to make changes to keep up with the younger golfers.

Why Is Golf So Popular?
By Andrea Flint
Mark Twain once famously observed that to play golf was to ruin a good walk in the country, but a sport that has so many millions of dedicated players and followers, along with over 30,000 courses worldwide, must have something going for it. So why is it that golf is such a popular sport?
Aside from P.J. O'Rourke's assertion that "Golf combines two favorite American pastimes: taking long walks and hitting things with a stick", the game of golf has many benefits to offer to players of all standards. The first and most obvious is that it provides a way of escaping from the hurly burly of modern urban life. The life enhancing qualities of fresh air, pleasant scenery, and a temporary return to seemingly rural surroundings are hard to overstate, and golf provides all these in abundance. As an aside, golf can also be good for the environment, with the courses providing a managed 'wilderness' in the heart of urban areas, which has great benefits both ecology-wise and for the community.

A New Grip on Golf -
Comfort is Key to
Enjoying the Game
By Jennifer Borkovich
Golf is a great excuse to exercise, socialize and enjoy the outdoors. However, as we age, we often start losing the strength and flexibility that we enjoyed in our younger days. Arthritis, pain, fatigue and joint problems have kept many golfers off of the course and away from the game they love. How can you overcome these issues? Technological advances focusing on the design and material of the golf club grip may be the answer.
Design
Traditional grips are large at the end of the club shaft and get smaller toward the club head. While many variations of color, overall diameter, hardness and surface design are available; this basic shape continues to dominate the market today. But why is the grip shaped like this? If you hold your hands as you do when you grab the club, it is clear that your hand is smaller at the top by your smallest finger and larger by your index finger - exactly the opposite shape of the traditional grip. Now think about which hand is holding the smallest part of the grip. It is your dominant hand. Because your strongest hand is holding the smallest part of the grip, you are forced to grip harder with this hand - another source of pain and fatigue and an issue if hands are weakened.
