More About Us:
Having grown up on south shore of Long Island in a town called Massapequa (sometimes more fondly known as Matzapizza), I have seen Nassau County develop from sand dunes and empty lots, into a flourishing culmination of communities.
Born in the 50’s, an era where we were taught to respect our elders, I remember thinking as a child what it will be like when I’m 16, then at 16 what it will be like when I’m in my 20’s, and so on, never realizing how fast time passes. When I hit 40, I stopped wondering. Instead, I started noticing how my piers and younger people were treating our seniors. I was also concerned how the government was going to provide peace of mind to the nations senior communities regarding all sectors of concern.
In the 1990’s I lost both my parents to tragic events, my Dad in the early 90’s and my Mom in the mid 90’s. Having no other immediate family besides my husband and beautiful daughter, my senses sharpened, I respected life and appreciated everything so much more (as many people do after tragedy). It doesn’t matter how old you are, as an adult child, when both your parents are gone, you feel like an orphan. Now, more than ever, I developed a bond with the seniors in my life, looking for an acknowledging glimpse, or an unexpected hug for no reason as I often did with my parents.
I started noticing in the late 90’s and earl y 20’s that approximately 65% of my real estate business was involving a senior in one-way or another.I stood on one laurel only – treat the senior population in business the way I would want to be treated in life – with love and respect and of course professionalism. My interest in the senior market peaking, I took the SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist) course and am now a certified SRES.
